Fields of microalgae are creating sustainable protein of the future

Månsson has in recent years provided fields for a pilot project called ReMapp, which focuses on the production of microalgae as a replacement for imported soy in the fodder for our organic egg layers.

The algae are cultivated outdoors and supplied with CO2, a byproduct from the biogas production at our biogas plant, Nature Energy Månsson.

ART Hotel Dalgas – Spend the night in a work of art!

The historic building, formerly the Technical School in Brande, turns 100 years old in 2023 and has been reborn as a modern and iconic art hotel.

With the idea and desire to preserve and modernize one of the historical buildings in Brande, the former ‘Technical School,’ we have now completed a renovation, carried out with respect for the old craftsmanship, aiming to create a completely new experience for the city’s overnight guests.

The building has emerged as ART Hotel Dalgas, where eight professional artists have created unique decorations for the modernized and exclusive hotel rooms, leaving their outstanding mark by letting the entire room be the canvas for their work – without limitations. Even the floors are included as part of the artworks, as the artists’ designs have been transferred to prints executed by Ege Carpets, Herning.

Guests are invited to stay in the artwork, in the painting. All rooms at ART Hotel Dalgas are fully adorned, from ceiling to floor, with different themes. With a QR code on the room’s wall, guests are introduced to the artists’ universe, a cinematic insight, a brief story about the artist themselves, and a description of the artwork.

With the opening of ART Hotel Dalgas, Brande solidifies itself as a true art city, known since the 60s for its unique gable paintings, with new additions each year, and for the International Street Art festival, attracting hundreds of thousands of art enthusiasts to the mid-Jutland town every summer.

During the renovation, we have engaged local craftsmen and suppliers – a decision that underscores our sustainability strategy and local cohesion.

The Originator

The decoration of the art rooms is based on the idea of Rune Lyager, previously involved in the Urban Street Zone, Denmark’s largest skate park in Brande, and now a member of the Children, Culture, and Leisure Committee, Ikast-Brande Municipality. Rune Lyager’s proposal is based on the concept that the new art rooms will result in the creation of unique works. These works will reflect contemporary development and serve as a memoir and storytelling about each artist, all of whom have a connection to the art city of Brande. Everything is brought together in one place, perhaps for eternity?

Månsson’s fresh, green beans

Månsson’s fresh, green, organic beans are now well on their way!

Green beans are heat-dependent, and despite the unstable Danish summer weather, the beans are doing well.

Bean production requires some extra work in the spring as the early-sown beans need to be protected from the cold.

The green beans are harvested using a special machine that strips the plants of the mature beans. Månsson has invested in a brand new bean harvester for the 2023 season. After harvesting, the beans are hand-sorted to ensure quality, then packaged and delivered to stores the following day.

Fresh, green beans should be kept cool until they are ready to be eaten.

Enjoy them lightly blanched in salted water as a side dish, in a healthy and satisfying bean salad, or on the grill, possibly wrapped in bacon ;-).

The possibilities are many!

BLUEBERRIES – the sweet and healthy berrybombs :)

HERE THEY ARE – the fresh blueberries from Månssons plantation situated close to the farm in Brande.

the plantation is under conversion to organic production. This means that the blueberry bushes have been grown organically the last years and will become certified organic after this harvest season, hence it takes two years from a farmer begin to grow the field after the organic rules and till the products are sellable as certified organic.

The blueberries are ready NOW, they are sweet and delicious since they have gained all the best from our nice Danish summer.

You can get them in 250 g carton boxes made of recycled paper.

Private customers: Get the Månsson Blueberries in our farm shop, Gårdbutikken Månsson in Brande, or please ask for them in the shop where you normally purchase your fruit and veggies.

Here at Månsson, we have decided not to hold Åbent Landbrug / Open Farm Event in 2023.

We have many other activities on the farm throughout the year, such as guided tours, courses, workshops, and various other professional events.
