The most beautiful onions of the year!
For the first time in history, ORGANIC onions are winning the “Best Quality” onion competition.
The organic red onions from Axel Månsson A/S did win the annual national quality competition in the red onion-segment.
In the quality competition, the right harvest and storage skills are in focus to obtain the best onion quality for sale.
Also, Axel Månsson A/S became no. 2 in the ‘Onion Grower of the Year’-competition, regarding yield – in both the conventional and the organic segment.
The winning red onions!
No less than 16 samples – eight yellow and eight red, which is a record – were judged by all the participants at the annual meeting in the Danish Onion Grower Association.
They assess shell color, shell quality, hardness, and general impression.
All the participants at the annual meeting in the Danish Onion Grower Association assess the quality and select the winner of the best yellow and red onions respectively.
Here the quality award is presented to Production specialist from Axel Månsson A/S, Christian Toft Christensen, by Steen Møller Madsen from the seed company Hazera.
Here the second place as “Onion Grower of The year”/conventional onions is presented by Henrik Jørgensen from the seed company SeedCom.

Campaign – the Danish Agriculture & Food Council
Monday October 1st 2018 a new campaign for the Danish Agriculture & Food Council was launched.
Iceberg lettuce from our fields in Brande is one of the products that are portrayed and highlighted. You follow the fresh harvested iceberg lettuce to the end consumer on the vegetable market in Verona, Italy. Italy is one of the locations where the Månsson iceberg is exported each summer.
Teh campaign will be shown as TV spots on the local TV channels as TV2, TV2news and Kanal 5, on social medias as facebook and youtube, and all the movies in the campaign will be public on www.lf.dk/noget-af-det-bedste
